The Challenge

Behind every Sports hero is a story of ‘Blood. Sweat & Glory’. Netflix has curated a collection of these stories, leaving nothing out of bounds. You know the games, you admire the athletes, but you’ve never heard these stories told quite like this. To make the collection resonate with a broader audience, they needed a unique Netflix Sports identity. For Netflix’s expanding sports lineup, we crafted a visual language that captures that intensity and emotion and translated it into a fresh and new visual design for Netflix sports’ brand identity.

My Role

As lead producer for the Study Hall brand team, I oversaw the planning and execution of the new brand identity for Netflix Sports. Starting with defining the scope and building the timeline, I then collaborated with creative directors securing the right talent to execute a vision, including designers, animators and creative strategists to develop a suite of brand assets that aligned with the brand's vision. Our approach was to spotlight what Netflix does best: focus on the human element rather than the superhuman. We embraced the raw emotion and intensity of sports. The identity carries a gritty realism, a starkness, and a promise of deeper layers yet to be unveiled.With an emphasis on dynamism and bold colors, we abstracted the iconic Netflix brandmark, creating visuals that embody the relentless speed and tireless repetition inherent in sports.
